Louisiana couple had beautiful twin boys – 6 years later, they found themselves with twin girls, too

Twins are obviously a rare occurrence, especially identical ones.

To have two sets of identical twins is incredibly uncommon as well, but that’s exactly what happened to this couple from Louisiana.

Jake and Erin Credo welcomed twin boys into their lives years ago with Cooper and Grant. Getting pregnant was a challenging process, but they could not be happier when their sons arrived.

At first, the couple was not sure if they wanted any more children. The first time was a hard road for them both. It was difficult for Erin to conceive and carry children.

“We were kind of on the fence about having more because I didn’t want to go through that again,” Erin told Today. “I never in my life thought I’d have four kids. I’m still in disbelief.”

They knew it was nearly impossible for Erin to get pregnant, so imagine their surprise when she found out that she was expecting again six years later.

Jake’s wife sent him a copy of the ultrasound that showed their new children. Jake was confused as to why his wife would send him a picture of Cooper and Grant out of the blue, and it was then that Erin told him they were now expecting “round two.” Erin explained Jake’s reaction with Today:

“He was, like, ‘Oh, my God.’ Obviously, we were excited. We’ve done it before. Having twins, it’s all we know.”

The family of four was quickly growing into a family of six. Dr. Cliff Moore, who oversaw Erin’s second pregnancy, explained how rare it is for a couple to have a second set of identical twins:

“Only about 1 in 111,111 pregnancies results in a second set of identical twins,” he explained.

“To put that in perspective, we deliver approximately 8,000 babies at Woman’s Hospital each year, so we’d only see that about once every 15 years.”

The pregnancy was largely smooth, and Erin gave birth to two beautiful girls–Lola and Allie–on September 22. They were born early but healthy and stayed in NICU for a few days before returning home with mom and dad.

The couple paints the girls’ fingernails in different colors to help tell them apart in their infancy. Erin and Jake have expressed looking forward to watching their bond continue to develop, with Erin saying:

“Cooper and Grant are always snuggling. The other day Grant fell asleep in our bed and Cooper gave him a kiss on the forehead.”

The parents consider themselves lucky and look forward to raising two such close-knit sets of twins.

“Now is when the zoo and the fun begins of having two sets of very, very special twins,” Erin joked to WAFB. “Round two, here we go. I need to go buy a lottery ticket now.”

Amazing, they look younger now then six years ago! Having twins must keep you young !
