Keith Urban’s beautiful and moving Bee Gees tribute gets star-studded standing ovation

Hit country singer Keith Urban, and husband to movie star Nicole Kidman, left  Barry Gibb very emotional and got a standing ovation from the star-studded audience with his performance of Bee Gees’ hit “To Love Somebody.”

US 106.1 New Country

The Gibb brothers were born and raised in Manchester, England. The family moved to Australia in the late 1950s.

Before he started singing, Keith Urban said that the Bee Gees were a huge inspiration to him. Urban, who was born in New Zealand and is also an Australian citizen, revealed that he felt a special connection with the Gibb brothers as he lived quite close to them growing up.

They were living about 100 miles from where I grew up with my family and truly, that sort of thing makes your dreams seem a little bit closer, he said.

Stars such as Demi Lovato, Ed Sheeran, Andra Day, Celine Dion, Kelsea Ballerini and Thomas Rhett were also at the tribute concert and performed legendary Bee Gees tracks.

But Keith Urban definitely stole the show when he performed on the stage of a special CBS broadcast called “Stayin’ Alive: A Grammy Salute to the Music of the Bee Gees.”

Keith calls the song “To Love Somebody” one of the greatest love songs ever written. Watch his talented performance in the video below and I think you’ll agree that the standing ovation was well deserved.
