Doctor with COVID-19 whose skin turned darker has died after five-month battle

A doctor whose skin turned darker after being diagnosed with COVID-19 has died after battling the disease for 5 months.

Dr Hu Weifeng, who had been treating patients in Wuhan, was diagnosed with the virus in January.

The 42-year-old, along with another doctor Dr Yi Fan who also contracted the virus, woke up to find their skin had turned darker.

Sadly Dr Hu lost his life due to complications brought by the coronavirus, as per MailOnline.

He passed at a hospital in Wuhan, Chinese news website The Paper reported.

The two men’s skin color change is thought to be caused by an antibiotic given to the men before they were put on life support.

Condition more serious

Dr Yi, also 42, who worked at the same hospital as Dr Hu, has fully recovered, MailOnline reported.

His skin tone is said to be slowly returning to normal.

Dr Yi and Dr Hu were both diagnosed on January 18 but Dr Hu’s condition was said to be more serious and in April he suffered a stroke.
