Mysterious announcement before Harry and Meghan’s wedding – cancels everything

Ever since the engagement was announced last autumn, expectations have been high for Prince Harry and actor Meghan Markle’s upcoming wedding.

Everyone is waiting eagerly for more details about the wedding – and speculation is in full swing.

Now another rumour is gaining tract before the royal wedding.

Until now, it hasn’t been announced which artists will perform at Harry and Meghan’s wedding.

But now People Magazine are on the case. The publication reports that Elton John will likely serenade the royal couple on their big day.

Over the weekend it was confirmed that Elton John has rescheduled two concerts that were planned to take place the day of and the day before the wedding. On Elton John’s official website the reason was simply described as a “scheduling conflict”.

It wouldn’t be the first time that Elton John has performed for the royal family.

He performed ”Candle in the Wind” during Princess Diana’s funeral at Westminster Abbey on September 6, 1997. The singer was close to Princess Diana and has called her “a fantastic friendin interviews.

“She was very much loved. She was a controversial figure in some respects, but not to me,” Elton John previously told People Magazine.

Whether Elton John does perform at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding remains to be seen. The 70 year old performer hasn’t commented publicly, but he has said previously that he’s very happy for the engaged couple.

“I spent some time with Harry in Sicily last summer, and I could tell that he was totally in love,” Elton John told People Magazine.
