Everybody has the right to be loved for who they are, and nobody should have to be afraid of revealing their sexual orientation to their friends and family.
Giovanni Melton was a happy 14-year-old who spread joy amongst his friends at Coronado High School, USA.
On November 2nd, he was shot to death by his father, 53-year-old Wendell Melton.
The reason? He was gay.
Giovanni’s foster mother, Sonja Jones, states that Wendell was extremely upset over his son’s orientation, and said that he’d rather have a dead son than a son who was gay.
According to Sonja, Wendell caught Giovanni with his boyfriend, which caused him to kill his son, reports 3 News Las Vegas.
Giovanni had also suffered years of physical and psychological abuse, she added.
Neighbours heard a fight break out between father and son, which culminated in gunshot.
It really shouldn’t be like this. It’s people like this father that make the world a scary place to live in.
