The tragedy occurred near Brownsburg, Indiana, on August 22.
AP News said the girl’s parents and four siblings had all taken naps after church thinking the girl had been brought into the house.
WRTV-TV says the 21-month-old girl has been identified as Marah Anne Crapo.
The temperature was in the low 80s as first responders made attempts to revive Marah.
Police say that it is unlikely that there will be any criminal investigation after the tragic death.
According to WBIW , 36 children have died in hot cars this year in the United States alone.
