Woman collapses after suffering a stroke, but just watch what her dogs do next

We all know that dogs make loyal companions that show unconditional love for their owners, but it’s their ability to detect when their owner is in trouble that makes them really special.

Nobody knows this better than Maureen Hatcher, who has her two loyal Labrador dogs to thank for saving her life.

Her ring video doorbell caught the dogs in action as they ran outside of her Florida home and started barking. It was those persistent loud barks that got her the vital help that she needed.

Maureen, who had double bypass heart surgery last summer, was taking a shower on December 3.

“And the next thing I knew, I was eating the floor and couldn’t move,” Maureen said, according to the  St. Augustine Record. “And I said to my girls [the dogs], ‘I need help.’”

Dogs jumped into action

Her two Labradors Bella and Sadie were able to open her front door and run outside, barking very loudly. They managed to get the attention of a neighbor who followed the dogs back to Maureen’s house.

Following the dog’s lead neighbor Alexandra Naspolini went into Maureen’s home and found her nearly unresponsive on the bed.

‘Angels’ Bella and Sadie

Her neighbor called the emergency services and stayed with her until they arrived. She was then rushed to hospital and had surgery to open up her blood vessel.

The short procedure was a success and today Maureen has many people to thank, including her “angels” Bella and Sadie, for helping to save her life.

“I am blessed I don’t have any residual effects, and I attribute that to Dr. Nima and what the staff there did for me,” Maureen said.
