Sharon Osbourne makes her feelings about Meghan Markle clear

Sharon Osbourne has long been a dedicated royal fan– but it’s no secret that she’s not Meghan Markle’s biggest fan.

After Osbourne’s friend Piers Morgan was in hot water for his criticisms against the royal family member, Sharon stood beside her friend in solidarity.

While she didn’t agree with everything that her friend said, her defense of him led to her being forced out of The Talk. In her new documentary–Sharon Osbourne: To Hell and Back–the 70-year-old discusses her firing and clears up her feelings about Markle:

“I’ve never met her in my life. But she mixes with the royalty of showbiz, put it that way.”

The controversial star also continued, “I think that you have to be over a certain bank balance for her to talk to you. It’s all the wealthiest of the [wealthy] in the industry that she hangs out with. And there’s nothing wrong with that at all. God bless you. But she does tell some porky pies [lies]. Put it this way, she’s surrounded by very, very, like how can I do this politely? It’s the cream of the cream in Hollywood music, film, everything she’s surrounded by… She’s hardly a victim.”

Her opinions are not all bad, however. Meghan and her husband Prince Harry made the controversial decision to separate from the royal family lifestyle in 2020 and currently live in Montecito, California.

The news made headlines around the world, and was dubbed “Megxit.” The news reportedly took other members of the royal family by surprise, and they held a summit to discuss how to respond.

The Queen herself issued an official response — a rare personal address from the monarch, which conveyed no hard feelings.

“Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family,” the Queen wrote.

By all accounts, Harry and Meghan have settled down nicely in the States, but the question of Harry’s relationship with his family still casts something of a shadow.

Sensational headlines and head-spinning rumors are never far away where the royals are concerned, and Meghan got her fair share of that too.

Therefore, Sharon Osbourne sympathizes with her fellow star, explaining:

I think that the British press did treat her very harshly when she came. I can remember one headline, which was very, very ugly. And who knows what goes on in a family? Does every member of every family get on? No… Who knows what goes on in a family or a marriage? I always say nobody ever knows.”

After the Queen’s death, it was speculated that Harry had offered his father an olive branch in an attempt to end the in-fighting. Harry and Meghan have now returned to the US to be with their children, but one can expect that he and Charles will maintain some sort of dialogue.

What Meghan thinks of the whole situation – and the possibility of Harry returning to the royal fold in some way to help out, as has also been speculated in some quarters – remains to be seen.

It was Meghan who was most vocal when it came to criticism of the Royal Family, and though she was present for the Queen’s funeral, the idea that she would ever want to move back to the UK in any capacity is, quite frankly ridiculous.

Sharon Osbourne has long been a supporter of the British royal family. When Queen Elizabeth died, she could be seen in London, where she joined thousands of mourners waiting to view the Queen’s coffin lying in state. Cameras caught an extremely emotional Sharin, hugging other mourners.

“I love the Queen and I came over for this because I’m a royalist and I love the royal family,” she told ITV News.

According to the TV personality, she loved many things about her Majesty – but one thing stood out:

“Stability… no matter what would change in this country and, you know, everything changes in life but she never did. And it was just wonderful to have her.” Speaking to Piers Morgan on his Talk TV show, the 69-year-old had said, “It’s unsettling and I know the mourning will go on and on and on for our Queen, people will never stop mourning for her.”
