The prognosis may not be good for Beth Chapman in the wake of her second cancer diagnosis, but neither her nor her husband Duane ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ Chapman, are prepared to lie down.
Beth was first diagnosed with throat cancer back in 2017. Though she was able to beat it on that occasion – she spent almost a year in remission – it came back again late last year. This time, she faces an uphill battle to win free of the terrible disease, though she has remained in high spirits.
Now, husband Duane has released an update to the Daily Mail, signalling the family’s intent to fight to the bitter end …
It was in November, 2018 that Beth Chapman underwent emergency surgery to clear a large tumor blocking her throat. It soon became apparent to the public that her cancer had returned, with it later being revealed that this time it has spread to her lungs.
With Beth currently undergoing chemotherapy – doctors have told her she has a 50/50 chance of surviving – she would be forgiven for taking a step back from the spotlight.
In determined fashion, however, neither her nor Dog are admitting defeat.
Duane Chapman told the Daily Mail: “I told her the other day I love you so much I’m not gonna let you die. I stay positive and, you know, you can’t admit defeat, you just cannot. I have to stay strong.”
Duane also told how Beth is refusing any and all forms of prescription medication that her doctors have recommended.
“She has told me repeatedly that if these are her last days on earth she wants to spend every moment with me on the hunt, living life to the fullest and enjoying the time we have left together,” he said.
“Mark my words, I will not let her die.”
Cancer is a terrible disease, and only by working together and showing the same unwavering resilience as Beth can we ever hope to beat it!
