They say true love always works out in the end. But along the way, you can definitely have your doubts.
Between raising kids, trying to get ahead in your careers, and all the things that life throws at you, it can be hard.
But sometimes love is meant to be, and no matter how much happens — even divorce — you can’t keep true love down.
Jeffrey and Lorrie Agan fell in love back in the 80s and got married in 1989. They had eight wonderful kids together, but they also fought, got separated and finally divorced in 2014.
For a while it seemed like the end of a beautiful relationship. But then at Christmas this year, Jeffrey gave his ex-wife, Laurie, the best Christmas present anyone could ask for and changed everything.
When the Agan family opened their Christmas presents this year, dad Jeffrey Agan, Sr. had one for his ex-wife, Lorrie, that she and the rest of the family will never forget.
Neither Lorrie nor her and Jeffrey’s eight children could have guessed what was inside the box.
Lorrie joked, “Is it a pizza?” as you can see in the video below. But that couldn’t have been further from the truth.
The gift turned out to be a framed poem that Jeffrey had written for her. And when 52-year-old Jeffrey got down on his knee, the whole family could guess what would happen next.
The poem was a heartfelt proposal — Jeffrey asked his former wife for her hand in marriage again. And of, course, she said “yes.”
The couple’s son Jeffrey Jr. wrote that after they got divorced, “both of my parents each went on a separate journey for self renewal. My dad started going to the gym and lost a ton of weight. He started writing poetry and spending more time with his grand kids. My mother found peace in nature, through meditation, and self empowerment.”
Now that they’ve made peace with themselves, Jeffrey, Sr. thought it was time for him and Lorrie to start over.

Jeffrey Jr. told BuzzFeed, “No one knew Dad had planned the proposal, and the detail and love he put into it. But I read the situation quickly as it was happening, and I pulled out my phone and caught a great recording!”
Lucky for us he did!
Jeffrey Jr. then posted the video on Twitter, where it’s racked up an incredible 10 million views in about a week.
Now, Jeffrey Jr. has started a GoFundMe for his parents’ wedding. He says that his parent’s first wedding was at an electronics store and now he wants to give them the wedding that they deserve. Let’s help them do just that!
