Grandma thinks she’s dying, then doctor reveals what they found inside her belly

Receiving the happy news that you’re going to be a grandparent for the first time is indescribable!

Your beloved son or daughter will have their own baby. Maybe you’ll be flooded by memories of when your child was a newborn? In your mind you can still see them playing and running around as children. Now they are going to have their own little bundle of joy.

For Alison Dent and her partner, Robert, they were overwhelmed with joy when they were told they would be grandparents.

But Alison’s happiness was short lived, because soon after the joyful news, she began to experience terrible stomach pains.

She was convinced she was dying and went to the hospital.

But nothing could prepare Alison and Robert for the news they were about to receive…

Alison, from Darlington, England, had suffered with a range of health problems her whole life. Over 20 years ago, just after she gave birth to her only child, Kylie, she woke up in the middle of the night.

Her sheets were covered in blood.

Alison discovered that she was suffering with abnormal cervical cells, and had a “routine” operation to remove part of her cervix, reports British paper The Daily Mail. Unfortunately, it meant that she couldn’t have anymore children.

She and Robert were crushed because they wanted to have more children. But they were grateful to have their daughter Kylie, who they raised with all the love in the world.

That’s why it was so emotional when Kylie revealed that she was expecting. Unfortunately, Alison was suffering with terrible stomach pains at the time she discovered she was to become a grandma.

“I went to the doctor, and two months after Kylie got pregnant, in March 2013, I was diagnosed with IBS,โ€ Alison says.

Alison’s belly continued to cause her pain. It felt bloated and grew more and more. IBS is a gastrointestinal disease, which means that you can not find any problems in the stomach or intestines, they just do not work properly.

The months went by, and Kylie soon gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who she called Caseylee.

Doctors did a scan and found another cyst. They then ordered more tests and did some blood tests.

Amazingly – 26 years after Alison learned that she could no longer have children – she got the shocking news:

“It isn’t a cist … It’s a baby.”

โ€I was stunned then,” Alison tells The Daily Mail. ‘I was 32 weeks pregnant and Iโ€™d had no idea.’

Just 8 weeks later, 43 year old Alison gave birth to a little boy, Bobby Charles.
