Hardworking nurse falls asleep in salon, stylist posts a picture and is overwhelmed by reaction

Going to the salon is such a treat for us busy moms. With kids, a job and home commitments keeping us busy the thought of taking a few hours off to sit down and be pampered is not always possible.

When one woman walked into a salon this particular stylist took the time to really get to know her customer.

What she did next prompted thousands of people to empathize with those who live to look after others and very rarely take time out to look after themselves.

Her Facebook post has already attracted more than 20,000 views and when you see it, you’ll understand why.

Ashley Bolling, the owner of Captivate Salon & Spa, in Whitesburg, Kentucky, welcomed a nurse into her salon, who had been working all night.

She watched the woman take a seat in her chair and then fall asleep.

It was then that she looked at her shoes and started to wonder about this lady as she did her hair.

Ashley took a picture of the woman’s shoes and decided to post it on Facebook, to remind people of those unsung heroes that spend their lives putting others first. She wrote:

“I wondered how many miles those shoes have walked. I wondered what they’d walked through. Blood? Tears? In & out of the countless rooms of the patients she’s cared for? I wondered how many hours they’ve carried her, and all those like her, while they literally save the lives of those we love and hold the hands of the ones who can no longer fight that fight.

“But with those shoes propped up in that chair, phone in her lap, I got the chance to take care of her (even if it was just for a few hours) and I felt extremely honored to take care of such a hardworking, inspiring woman I’m so lucky to call my friend.”

The rest of her message was meant to express gratitude towards other unsung heroes like her nurse friend.

To top it off, Ashley told The Kansas City Star one more thing about those shoes:

Her client’s husband stopped by the salon because their daughter forgot her shoes for track, so the lady took hers off and sent them for her daughter.

She left the salon in socks!

Ashley also revealed that this hardworking lady had even grabbed her some breakfast before coming to the salon. Always thinking of others.

Nurses work way harder than given credit for. They also have compassion. So do the rest of the laborers, CNA, cleaning, laundry, cafeteria, and others that we fail to be thankful for their hard work and long hours.

I love the support that this post has received. This hardworking nurse deserves all the praise.

Please share to prompt others to give her all the love she should be showered with.
