It’s hard to believe that Hollywood couple Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick have been together 30 years.
Bacon and Sedgwick got married in 1988 after meeting on the set of the PBS version of Lanford Wilson’s play Lemon Sky.
The couple has two children together, son Travis, 29, and daughter Sosie, 26.
Three decades deep into marriage with Kyra Sedgwick, Kevin Bacon has nothing to offer by way of guidance.
Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, who met on the set of “Lemon Sky” in the ’80s, celebrated their 30th anniversary recently.
“If someone had told me that at 22 I was going to meet the man I was going to marry and at 23 I would marry him and have a child, I would have told them they were out of their mind,” Kyra told Redbook in 2008.
The Bacon’s decades long marriage is something of a miracle in Hollywood. But their romance hasn’t always been easy.
“The time I was hitting what I considered to be bottom was also the time I met my wife, our kids were born, good things were happening. And I was able to keep supporting myself; that always gave me strength”, Bacon told reporters.
Bacon and Sedgwick have starred together in Pyrates, Murder in the First, The Woodsman, and Loverboy.
They have two children, Travis Sedgwick (b. 1989) and Sosie Ruth (b. 1992).
Sosie is following into the family business and currently stars as Skye Miller in the Netflix teenage drama ”13 Reasons Why”.
As for reaching their 30th anniversary today, the couple also credit their incredible spark in the bedroom.
“Sex is really important. That desire is there,” Sedgwick shared with Redbook in 2012.
“The essence of it hasn’t really changed. When he walks into a room, I’m still… I mean, my heart gets a little fluttery and I think, Oh! He’s so cute. He’s so hot. That’s literally the first thing I think.”
The Footloose star, 60, took to social media on Tuesday last week to commemorate the milestone and it’s the sweetest thing I’ve seen in a long time.
In one adorable clip, Kevin Bacon and his wife Sedgwick both played guitars together while looking into each other’s eyes. At the end of the video, they said “I love you” and kissed.
The video was also retweeted by Sedgwick, who wrote, “30yrs. wow. Love you so.”
The couple then continued their celebration by posting their declarations of love on each of their Instagram accounts. See the cute pictures below.

Her husband reposted the heartwarming video on his Instagram account, as well as another photo of Sedgwick, with the caption, “#30years. I Love this person. @kikkosedg.”
Bacon gave this advice on how to stay married in a 2015 interview published in Entertainment Weekly. : “Whatever you do, don’t listen to celebrities on advice on how to stay married.”
As for his wife, Sedgwick told Good Housekeeping in 2012 what she loves about her adoring husband.
“He is so honorable. He is so ethically true. He has high moral standards, and he doesn’t lie and he doesn’t cheat—and I find that sexy!” she said. “I am constantly in awe of Kevin’s levelheadedness and his lack of ‘crazy.’”
