I think we can all agree that socks disappear in the laundry every now and then.
After all, we’ve all had this experience: we’re sorting our clean laundry and we find that one sock without a mate.
Usually, it turns out that we forgot to put the missing sock in the laundry in the first place, but sometimes socks do seem to disappear without a trace.
And now we have an answer to where all those missing socks went!
Cathy Hinz’s husband made an interesting discovery when trying to fix a washing machine at a property he and Cathy manage. But what he never could’ve imagined was what he would find in there…
Cathy’s family lives in California and manages some properties. At one of those properties, the washing machine broke down and Cathy and her husband were responsible for fixing it. Something was stopping the drum from spinning and it was really frustrating. What could it be?
After looking at the washing machine for a while, Cathy’s husband decided to look into the drainage area to see if there were any clues. And yes, he found some. But what he found was not at all what he expected.

“Today, my husband got tired of fooling with one of the washing machines that was just not working properly and decided to take it apart, starting with the bottom panel. To his shock, this is what he found…”

She continues:
“Socks, underwear, a credit card… and that is just what was in the bottom of the machine. When he removed the water pump that removes the water from the machine, he found about $7.00 in change. Now, for those of you that SWEAR, your machine eats your small things, and have been told by “professionals” and others that this fable just is not true… Here is the proof!”
That washing machine is a sock eating machine! Cathy says that her family was surprised and almost shocked by the discovery.
“I don’t know what to say! 25 years he has been doing this job, and for 25 years he has been working on appliances, including washers and dryers. But NEVER have we seen this!”
