Being a waiter, you can learn a lot about people.
Sometimes, your customers’ bad attitudes and measly tips can make you lose faith in humanity. And sometimes, the actions of your customers can completely turn you around.
When a waiter who goes by Seminole on the photo sharing site Imgur recently received a $3.28 tip recently, he was furious.
“Nothing more frustrating than when I get little to nothing for a tip and the customer is smiling and thanking me profusely as they exit,” he wrote.
The paltry tip came from a group of four teenagers. It caused the waiter to question the teens’ parents and the way they raised their kids.
But then a letter came 10 days later that completely changed his mind.
“I’ve been serving a long time,” the waiter wrote. “Nothing like this has ever happened to me, or anyone.”
Scroll down to see the wonderful letter. It’s no wonder it’s spreading like wildfire on social media!
The waiter added on Imgur, “These kids came back another day and left this for me at the front desk, with $18 and some change.”
Then he had a message for the teens themselves. “I don’t know how you learned or educated yourself on tipping, but I really appreciate the effort and kindness. I hope your Homecoming was fantastic!”
Now, the letter has gone viral, with people everywhere praising the teens and their parents.
What do you think? Did this letter also restore your faith in parents and the way they’re raising their kids? Share it to inspire others and give these teens the credit they deserve!
