Garth Brooks performs song he wrote for his wife – she hears it for the first time and loses it

Country music star Garth Brooks married fellow country singer Trisha Yearwood in 2005 after years of being close friends. They’d both been married before and Trisha became stepmom to Garth’s three children, one of which had a daughter in 2013, making Garth a grandpa for the first time.

Despite their busy careers and blended family the Grammy award-winning star found time to write a song for his wife and she got to hear it for the first time at the 52nd Annual Country Music Association Awards.

The performance has moved people across social media with many praising the deep love these two have for each other and his wife’s reaction has got everyone talking.

Trisha, a singer, author and actress who has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide, heard Garth’s song for the first time along with his fans.

She sat in the front row to see her husband perform at the awards ceremony in Nashville Tennessee and beamed as Garth sang lyrics like.

“The fact you’re unafraid to let your emotions show, just means you’re stronger than me.”

But, this time she was unable to contain her emotions as she is seen welling up by the end of his performance.

And so many of their fans were also moved and took to Twitter to comment on the performance.

According to Entertainment Tonight Trisha said she was nervous to hear the song live on television.

“I’m sure people think, ‘Oh, he probably sang it for her,’ I have not heard this thing. I swear. I really don’t know what it’s gonna be. I trust him, so I’m sure it’s gonna be wonderful. But I’m just nervous,” she said.
