Santa surprises elderly at nursing home then 90-year-old woman blows him away with her dance moves

Christmas is a time for spreading cheer and nobody knows this better than D.C. minister Christopher Tate who devotes much of his time to visiting prisoners and the elderly.

On Christmas Eve he made his usual rounds and visited the Unique Residential Care in Northwest D.C. dressed as the big man in red to deliver gifts and spread some love.

When he met one lady an interaction was recorded and released on social media and it has captured the hearts of people all over the world. When you see it you’ll understand why.

As he was passing out gifts, a 90-year-old woman came to him with a special request.

“We went to the nursing home and while my daughter and helpers passed out gifts, I went room to room to greet each senior,” Christopher told Fox News. “I came upon her and she said, ‘Santa, I wanna dance!’”

This festive fun lover was only too happy oblige and the two began to dance to “O Come, All Ye Faithful.” But, what happened next left the minister floored.

Despite the woman having a walker she showed the minister that she still had the moves. You can see how impressed he is. At one point he loses his hat trying to keep up with this talented dancer.

Christopher said he was “in shock” at this amazing lady’s moves – he struggled to keep up!

“After we were done, there were so many seniors hugging me, crying and didn’t want us to leave,” he said.

He posted a video of the two of them dancing together and in just a few days it had attracted three million views and over nine thousand comments.

“Countless messages started pouring in from all over the world,” he said. “My Facebook has nearly caused my iPad to explode.”

He was so humbled by the kind messages telling ABC News: “I teach my children to give because giving is everything, and although I am shocked that this video has reached over 5 million views, I am elated over the love and well wishes I’ve gotten from all over the world. People are inspired to go and take better care of our seniors and to appreciate our seniors and to [love] our seniors.”
