It’s always heartbreaking to read stories about fires and know that a family somewhere has lost everything. Fires can happen so quickly and in minutes everything you’ve ever owned is destroyed.
The community that attend Freedom Ministries Church in Grandview, West Virginia were left devastated when a fire destroyed their church.
But a shocking detail has emerged that has given some comfort to parishioners that a greater hand was protecting their church from the fire destroying everything.
The Coal City Fire Department said in a Facebook post said the fire was so hot they had to back out at one point.
The fire ravaged through the building destroying everything in its path and it looked like the odds were against any part of the church being saved.
But while sorting through the wreckage firefighters came across something they couldn’t explain.

“In your mind, everything should be burned, ashes. Not a single bible was burned and not a single cross was harmed!!” the department wrote.
The Facebook post, with pictures of the untouched bibles and cross, quickly went viral as more than 45,000 people shared the shocking story.
“Though the odds were against us, God was not,” the firefighters added.

Freedom Ministries said in a Facebook comment, “We are overwhelmed with all the love, prayers, concerns, and offers of help!! God is working, we know. We cant thank you all enough. Please know we love you and are for ever grateful.”
They also confirmed that they will have to rebuild the church but they will be “ok”.
