Any parent will tell you that their child graduating from college is up there with their proudest moments.
When Jack Rico graduated from Fullerton College in California, his mom and dad had more reason than most to both celebrate and be amazed.
Why? Well, at just 13-years-old Jack Rico is the youngest to ever graduate from Fullerton College and he earned four associate’s degrees in just two years.
He entered college at the age of 11.
According to ABC7, Jack will be continuing his education at the University of Nevada on a full scholarship.
Despite his great achievement, he shies away from being called a “genius”.
Although the road is wide open and many predict a bright future for this young man, Jack has not decided what he wants to work with.
“I’m 13, so I don’t want to rush everything,” he said.
“I’m still trying to figure it out, but I just want to focus on learning right now. That’s what I love to do.”
Always humble, Jack sees himself as “normal”, despite making the history books as the youngest ever to graduate from college. Jack is like other kids his age, he likes to do ordinary things and loves playing video games.
Congratulations! To you Jack & your proud parents! May you continue to succeed in your academic endeavors. How great that learning is what you LOVE to do! 🙌🏻
