When Alyssa Salgado from Kennewick, Washington picked up her 2 year old daughter from daycare, she made a horrible discovery.
There was something that wasn’t right: her daughter looked different.
She had a strange red mark between her eyebrows.
Alyssa suspected that the staff at the daycare had done something – so she decided to confront them…
When you leave your children at daycare, you assume that they’re in good hands. Obviously you need to be able to trust the people whose job it is to take care of them. But Alyssa Salgado has every reason to believe that her daughter was subjected to something horrible while she was at daycare.
When she went to collect her two year daughter from daycare, she discovered that the little girl had a red mark between her eyebrows. At first she thought it was just a scratch from the children playing together. But when she looked closer she could clearly see that someone had shaved or waxed her daughter’s eyebrows. She was convinced that the daycare staff were behind it. There was no one else who had been in contact with the girl during the day.
The mom became very upset and decided to confront the daycare manager immediately.
“This morning I take my daughter in person to the director. She laughs in my face telling me a bunch of lies!!! I am a mother nothing like this should ever happen and they had no right to touch my daughter at all,” Alyssa wrote on Facebook.
“I birthed my daughter and love every little thing about her and these so called women took it upon themselves to correct the way my daughter should look.”
Alyssa’s Facebook post has outraged thousands of parents around the world. The overwhelming majority reacted just like Alyssa and were furious.
The story took an unexpected turn when Alyssa heard from another parent that their child was also subjected to the same treatment.
“My son can’t talk and I don’t know what he has been through. He’s just a baby, he can’t defend himself. He’s not even 2 yet…” writes Glenda Maria Cruz, another mom whose son was subjected to the same thing.
Both Maria and Glenda feel guilty that they were not there to look after their children.
“I can imagine her calling out mommy and I wasn’t there to protect her I failed her!” Alyssa writes.
Both women have reported the incident to police and it’s now being investigated.
If the daycare staff really are behind this, then it’s completely unacceptable. Nobody has the right to decide how a small child should look, and definitely not people who aren’t the childrens’ parents. Share this story to inform others!
