Last Saturday, Prince Harry married actress Meghan Markle, and now the royal couple carries the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The wedding was huge and was followed by hundreds of millions of television viewers across the world.
Thousands of people also went to Windsor Castle outside of London to get a glimpse of the couple and attend the festivities.
Meghan and Prince Harry left the wedding by horse-drawn carriage and were greeted by a sea of people. And somewhere in the massive crowd, the Duchess saw a familiar face.
When she realized who it was, she couldn’t believe her eyes — and neither could the woman in the crowd!
The wedding was clearly a big event for the royal family — but also for millions of people.
One person who attended the celebrations was 77-year-old Gigi Perreau. She’s perhaps best known as actress and has appeared on several TV shows and films from the 40s until today.
But she also has a special connection to the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.
The 77-year-old woman was Meghan’s old acting teacher, but the Duchess hadn’t seen her for several years. No wonder both Meghan and Gigi were surprised when their eyes met.
Gigi was not only there as an individual but also as a reporter for the TV channel ITV. She was at the front of the crowd to see as much of the newlyweds as possible.
“Do you think she’ll recognize me?” she asked a colleague.
And sure she did! In the clip, you can see Meghan light up when she sees her old teacher.
“Oh, my God!” says an overwhelmed Meghan.
And of course, the 77-year-old actress was noticeably moved by the event.
Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding was both beautiful and memorable. And for Gigi, it was extra special. The amazing moment when she meets her old student will probably stay with her for her whole life!
