A stately husky dog is among the finest dogs out there – at least if you ask me. That’s why it hurts my heart when I see how some people mistreat these beautiful dogs.
If you have ever visited the beautiful island of Bali, you know how amazing it can be there – but unfortunately they have a huge homeless dog population. The authorities have found it very difficult to control the situation.
Thankfully, some volunteers have taken this problem into their own hands and are making it their mission to give poor, lost dogs a new chance in life.
One such animal hero is Rico Soegiart. On his way home from work, Rico encountered a terrible sight on the streets of Denpasar, a husky that was so thin her bones were sticking out of her emaciated body. She was close to death.
Despite her condition, her bright blue eyes still shone and Rico knew that he had to give the neglected dog a second chance. He spent 10 months looking after her and the transformation, shown below, is amazing.
This is husky dog Hope, who was abandoned and left for dead on the streets of Bali.
When 26-year-old animal lover Rico Soegiarto was on his home from work one night he was stopped in his tracks at the sight of the undernourished dog who barely had any coat left.
Hope was just skin and bones when she was found weak and frightened on the streets of Bali.
When Rico took care of Hope, she did not have many days left to live.
But despite her heartbreaking state there was a streak of hope in her bright blue eyes.
Rico immediately knew that he had to give the poor dog a second chance.
“I do not know what was so special about her,” says Rico. “It’s about heart and feeling. I found her when I was on the way back home from work, she was in the middle of the street.”
After being given a loving home, Hope slowly began to recover. She was properly groomed, had several veterinary visits and plenty of good and nutritious food.
Rico is very proud of his newfound friend and shared Hope’s transformation online.
Today Hope is a strong and healthy husky with a beautiful thick coat and the same dazzling bright blue eyes.
Hope, too, appreciates Rico, who saved her life. Rico said: “She loves getting petted and eats plenty of cookies!”
Hope is now part of a big and happy family – Rico and his girlfriend have 4 other dogs that they saved from the streets!
What an amazing transformation this husky has undergone, it’s among the most incredible I’ve seen!
