When a group of teenage boys spotted an old man struggling in the street they didn’t hesitate to step in.
What they didn’t know was that someone was filming them.
Now the boys are being hailed heroes.
It was in Caldwell, Idaho, that a group of teenage boys spotted an elderly man on their way home from school.
The man collapsed in the street and the teen friends acted immediately.
Jose Gomez fell to the ground and could not reach his walker to get back up.
But the teenage boys didn’t stop there. After helping the man up, they walked with him all the way home. They wanted to make sure that he got home safely.
What they didn’t know was that their good deed was being recorded.
Erika Tovar caught their kind actions on camera and posted the picture on Facebook with the words, “Shout out to these young boys for helping an elderly man off the ground after he fell and walking him home.
“If any of you have elderly family check on them make sure they are okay!”
Free cupcakes and cookies
In just a few days Erika’s post attracted more than 1,000 people’s attention and now the boys are being hailed as heroes.
Local store the Sweet Spot Bakery even treated the boys the free cookies and cupcakes. Very well deserved!
“Great group of young men!” the bakery said in a Facebook post.
These teenage boys are such an inspiration to other youngsters. We must help our elderly and less mobile friends and neighbors.
