So many of us live under freezing cold winter days, so it’s no wonder we enjoy summer so much. Little is as enjoyable to us as a nice cold drink out on our porch — or better yet, breezy evenings surrounding a fire pit.
One couple decided to take that experience to the max when they designed and built their very own DIY pergola and fire pit.
Brett and Lauren from Alabama, who run their own blog, are an outgoing couple with a beautiful family — and certainly creative with their home.

The couple decided to build this fire pit as a retreat for their family and friends on the farm where they live. The goal? Hours of lovely nights relaxing and spending quality time together.
“We have a passion for restoration and we’re eager to see our property transform,” Lauren told Remodelaholic. “Without a doubt, one of our most beloved DIY projects and our favorite area to retreat on the farm is our outdoor pergola and fire pit.”

According to the couple, all the materials, excluding seating, set them back just $1,300. For the seating, they picked up six swing chairs at about $100 each.
Also surrounding the fire pit are six cozy Adirondack chairs, as below.
“It is truly an outdoor oasis and an area we created for the sole purpose of bringing our family and friends together,” Lauren says. “It’s a conversation piece around our small town and we love making s’mores, star gazing and relaxing here at the end of the day.”

The end result is just sublime! Who wouldn’t want to spend long, lazy evenings under the stars around this fire pit?
