In February, Storm Ciara storm swept across Europe and ravaged many countries. The storm particularly affected the UK and Ireland, before thrashing the north coast of mainland Europe.
Many took the chance to experience first-hand the mighty power of the weather; television pictures showed how people stood on the shore watching as the storm hit beaches and harbors. Some had cameras on hand to record the fascinating events unfold.
One woman, 48-year-old Sarah Hodges, managed to capture a very powerful moment shortly after Ciara passed by her home.
She shared the photos on Facebook – and the images left many captivated.
The photographs showed a full moon surrounded by a special cloud formation – it almost looked like Mother Earth was casting an eye on earth.
Sarah, from Bolton, UK , stood at home noticing how bright the full moon was. Shortly after Ciara had passed, there was a kind of mysterious mood over the landscape …
Sarah snapped few pictures and shared them on her personal Facebook page. She couldn’t have anticipated what would happened next …
The photographs, taken with her mobile camera, quickly became viral and spread like wildfire.
When you see the pictures, it’s not at all difficult to understand why.
Sarah, who works as a baker, told one news site: “I took the pictures last Tuesday, Feb 11, 2020, between 9.34pm and 9.39pm, just from my bedroom window at my home address. I am obsessed with the moon, sunset, sunrise, and the sea.
“I just used my Samsung S9. I know I got lucky, people spend thousands on cameras to get the perfect shot. I feel overwhelmed and proud, as a once in a lifetime shot… which I do understand. ”
Incredible shots of the moon during the storm. I simply love the moon, the sea and sunsets. So beautiful! ❤️💟💕
