It sounds crazy to put two lemon halves in your oven and leave them overnight.
But when I understood the reason behind this trick, I was immediately compelled to share it with you. How smart is not this?!
Let’s begin with the bottom line, a problem we all have at home: fruit flies.
It often begins with just one annoying little bugger that quickly multiplies into what feels like dozens. Their presence is most common during summertime, as the insects thrive best in warmer temperatures.
They soon make your home feel dirty, and if that’s not enough, the pests are difficult to get rid of. But here’s light at the end of this tunnel; there exists an inexpensive old housewife tip that can fix the problem!
All you need for this simple but effective trick is an oven and a lemon.
First, you split the lemon into two halves.

Next? Simply leave your oven door open overnight and go to bed.
The next morning, you’ll notice that all your annoying fruit flies are just next to your oven. Why? Because they’re drawn to the lemon’s crisp scent, obviously!
Now, all that’s left to do is open and let them in — then close the door again and turn your oven on for a few minutes.
Allow your oven to cool and then remove your lemon halves. Then wipe the bottom of your oven.
Your home will now not only smell good — but not a single fruit fly will remain!
