Potatoes are a staple of most of our diets. But peeling them? Not so fun.
How many times have you stood by the kitchen sink with your potato peeler and tried to keep your fingers clear of the blade, only to cut them anyway?
Not to mention how boring it is – I can think of about 10 000 things I’d rather do.
Well, it turns out that there is a trick that can make the whole process easier. It’s so smart I just had to share it with you!
The tip comes from food expert “Foody Tube” and is as simple as it is brilliant!
All you need is:
- A knife
- A pan of boiling water
- And…oh, yes, potatoes!
Here’s what you do:
1. Start by making a small snip in the middle of the potato with your knife and continue all the way around
2. It should be deep enough that you can see through the skin of the potato
3. Cook the potatoes as normal and when they’re done you’ll be able to simply pull the skin off the potatoes!
Watch the video below to see the trick in action!

This method isn’t just time saving and kind to your fingers, according to Foody Tube it also gives the potatoes more flavour!
I’m definitely going to try this the next time I cook potatoes and I hope you appreciate the tip as much as I do!
Share this trick with all your friends to save them some time in the kitchen!
