Family torn apart after dad, wife and daughter die of COVID-19 within 2 weeks

A 60-year-old man has spoken of his devastation after losing his parents and sister to coronavirus in the space of two weeks.

Keith and Jean MacVicar, both aged in their 80s, died of the killer virus and their son Richard took to Facebook to ask for prayers for his sister Jayne who, at the time, was in hospital fighting for her life.

“This is heartbreaking news following on from the death of both our parents over the past 9 days. πŸ˜’😒😒 πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™ come on Jayne stay strong and fight this please β€οΈ,” he wrote to Facebook group ‘Shine a light to help fight Coronavirus.”

He later updated the post to say: “Further to this previous post it’s with heartbreaking regret to say Jayne has lost her battle for life and passed away today. At least we have the comfort of knowing she is now back with mum and dad, who lost their battle to this horrible disease a few days ago.

‘Cut me open and stole my heart’

“To lose half your family in the space of two weeks feels like someone has cut me open and stolen my heart πŸ˜’😒😒😒 so so wrong.”

His post was met with more than 30,000 reactions and thousands of messages of support.

After the loss of his parents he posted a thank you to all the medical staff who had helped to look after his parents.

“You did your very best in very difficult conditions . You are all HEROES and deserve so much more , Thank You β€οΈβ€οΈxx,” he wrote.

Richard MacVicar, from Staffordshire, England, now has to face the unimaginable pain of organizing three funerals for his loved ones.

Before her death, Jayne, a former police crime analyst, had posted numerous messages on Facebook urging friends to obey social distancing measures, according to the Daily Mail.

She even swapped her profile picture for one that read: “Stay home, it could save lives.”

The number of people who have died from coronavirus surpassed the 10,000 mark yesterday making it one of the worst hit countries in the world.

Over the Easter weekend U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson was discharged from hospital after fighting for his life with the virus.

I can’t imagine the pain he must be going through; sending support and strength to Richard.

We can do our bit by staying at home and helping to reduce the spread of this devastating disease. Please share.
