Animal hero dressed as Batman on a mission to save needy animals

They say that real-life superheroes don’t wear capes but in this instance they really do.

Animal lover Chris Van Dorn decided to combine his love of flying (a plane) and animals and start an animal rescue non-profit with a difference.

Growing up he was a huge admirer of superheroes such as Batman so not only does he fly all over Florida and beyond rescuing dogs in need, but does it dressed as the Dark Knight himself.

And this caped crusader won’t rest “till every cage is empty.”

Chris’ idea was born in 2014 when his dad adopted a rescue dog which was transported to them by plane.

Shortly after getting his private pilot’s license Chris started the non-profit Batman4Paws which aims to help needy dogs.

Chris rescues animals that are on death row and finds loving homes for them – all while dressed as Batman.

“Pets here are in need of safe loving forever homes and Batman may just be the one to deliver him or her to your door,” his website says.

Chris takes animals in need of a place they can call home and transports them to no-kill facilities, and foster homes throughout the state of Florida and beyond.

“Transports are done personally by me (Batman!) using any means necessary, although I prefer to fly,” he said on his GoFundMe page which has so far raised $33,000 of a $35,000 goal.

On the fundraising page, Chris wrote: “As a child I looked up to the values that superheroes such as Batman reflected and thought that would be the perfect vessel to embody the spirit of goodwill.

“Thus the crazy idea of Batman4Paws was born. I would help rescue animals in need anyway I can, all while dressed as the Dark Knight himself and become a symbol for helping those in need.”

Now there’s no stopping the caped crusader who’s now added an adoption page so he can help with the search to find loving homes for these animals.
