Have you ever heard of a breed of horse called Akhal-Teke? They orginate in Turkmenistan, a country in Central Asia, and are a direct descendant of the extinct Turkoman horse that lived in ancient times.
There’s currently only 6,500 of these kind of horses which are the national emblem of Turkmenistan.
It is a heavenly creature and its coat looks like its been dipped in gold.

“The horse from heaven” is what they’re called in China; centuries ago armies in China would be sacrificed by Han emperors just to obtain a few of these precious creatures.
In Russia they are called “Divine or Sacred Horses” where they were valued for their speed and stamina.
The world’s oldest breed of horse is said to be the first to be domesticated.
It is believed that the Akhal-Teke horse is born with golden fur in order to use it as a camouflage in the desert.
The reason for its shiny shimmer lies in the structure of its fur, which is designed to act as a light intensifier and to throw back the light rays, according to the experts.
The breed, which originates from the Achal region in Turkmenistan, have been well looked after as they were valuable to those tribes that had to travel long distances across the desert.
“Turkmen keep their horses tanned with blankets on their backs all year. They provide them with light but visibly nourishing food such as pellets containing lean fat, grains and alfalfa,” wrote Richard Glynn in his book All World Horses according to Aftonbladet.
