Meet Gringo, the cat who has mustached his way into people’s hearts

All animals are beautiful in their own way but there are some that we cannot stop looking at.

Those that capture the world’s attention usually find a home on Instagram, which has many sites featuring animals with unique features.

Who could forget the cat “with two faces” called Venus who has 1.8 million followers on Instagram?

Now another cat is making headlines, but not because he has two faces, because he has different unusual markings on his face.

Meet Gringo, a one-year-old British Shorthair who has a particular marking on his face that makes him look very sophisticated.

Some have likened him to a “Victorian-era detective.”

Gringo has a fur mustache and the internet cannot get enough of him.

The 2-year-old kitty lives in France with his owners Sabrine and Romain, and his brother Milko.

Gringo had almost 60,000 followers on Instagram but his account was hacked and now his new page is already up to just under 12,000 fans.

“Gringo is a happy kitty, full of life and with a really nice personality. He loves to play all day and all night, get up to mischief like climbing on curtains, scratching the couch and jumping in the plants”, Sabrine told Just Something.

“He likes to stand on his back paw, just like a meerkat. He can stay a couple of minutes in that position, and it’s hilarious”.

This very sophisticated moggie has a quirky personality to go with his looks.

“Gringo always sniffs our plates to see if there’s something good for him to eat, and he likes to steal our sponge from the kitchen just to chew it, so we have to hide it every time,” added Sabrine.

Sabrine and Romain found a picture of Gringo on a popular French cattery site and they instantly fell in love with this fabulous feline.

The couple already had a cat called Milko, who also has his own Instagram page. They thought Gringo would make the perfect brother for Milko and had to have him.

Gringo was just three months old when they brought him home and he immediately bonded with Milko.

Now, they’re completely inseparable.

Such a beautiful cat who sounds like he is in a wonderful home where he is truly loved and celebrated.
