Meredith was heartbroken when her 14-year-old dog Abbey died.
She cried constantly and the only thing that calmed her down was the idea of writing a letter to God to ask how her four-legged friend was doing in heaven.
Meredith’s mom gladly obliged and wrote the words Meredith wanted to say to God. They posted the letter, putting extra stamps on it, and Meredith was comforted to know that the letter was on its way.
Then mom then got the shock of her life when a package wrapped in gold paper arrived on their porch…from God.

Letter to “heaven” ended up in the mailbox
A few days after Meredith’s mother posted the letter to, the family found a package wrapped in gold on their front porch. When they opened it, they couldn’t believe their eyes.
There was a book by Mr. Rogers called, ‘When a Pet Dies.’ and taped to the inside of the front cover was a letter which read:
“Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help and I recognized her right away.
“Abbey isn’t sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog.”
‘What a wonderful mother you have’
The letter continues:
“Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.”
