2 year old with Down syndrome can barely speak, but when his sister begins to sing, a miracle occurs

At age 2, children are expected to know about 50 words, but Bo has only 12 in his repertoire.

When your child has difficulty learning things, it is important to try different methods to see how the child best responds. And it turns out that Bo’s inspiration is music.

Every word that Bo has learned came through music and song, and big sister Lydia is often behind it.

A Johnny Cash classic

In a recent video recently recorded by Amanda, big sister Lydia can be seen playing the guitar and singing with Little Bo in their hallway. And it’s incredibly heartwarming to see.

Lydia plays and sings Johnny Cash’ song ‘You are my Sunshine’. But she periodically stops, giving Bo a chance to sing along too.

“My daughter Lydia was watching Bo while I was in the shower. Came out to this. If she didn’t have a guitar I don’t know if she would know how to babysit him. This is her go to. It’s proof that music therapy works.”

Spread like wildfire

Bo tries with all his power to make out the words of the popular song, dancing along as he often does to the sound of his sister’s guitar.

That music and rhythm flow through both Lydia and Bo’s veins is no surprise, their father dad is a musician, and music has always been a part of their lives.

The wonderful video of this adorable duo was shared on the popular Facebook page ‘Love What Matters’. Within 17 hours, hundreds of thousands had given it their thumbs up.
