One day, 19-year-old Anisa Gannon from Georgia was on her way to work when she suddenly had to stop her car in the middle of the road.
She saw that an accident had occurred and took a photo from where she stood to show her employer why she was late for work.
At that point, she didn’t yet know how serious the accident was.
Tragically, 3 people died in the accident, the youngest just 9 months old.
23 year old Hannah Simmons was on the way to the doctor with her daughter, 9 month old Alannah, for a routine check up. Hannah’s best friend Lauren Buteau was with them.
On the way there, something happened that caused Hannah to lose control of the car and crash into a truck.
Nobody in the car survived.
But when Anisa and her aunt looked at the photo from the accident later that day, the aunt noticed something about the photo that Anisa hadn’t seen before.
They could see a ray of light that looked like it was shining down straight from heaven.
“It looks like they’re going up to heaven,” said the aunt.
Anisa decided to track down the victims’ families and show them the photo.
Jodi, Hannah’s mom and little Alannah’s grandma, and Lauren’s mom Dana broke down when they saw the moving detail in the photo.
But they were so glad that Anisa had found them. Despite the tragic accident, they were glad to have seen the photo, which became a positive memory for the families.
“You don’t know how much that photo means to me,” says Jodi through tears.
“I can’t explain the feeling that came over me when I saw it,” says Dana. “It was like watching them ascend to heaven.”
