Six-year-old Reilly has autism and can’t communicate like other kids his age. But he listens and understands and is a good, happy boy, according to his mom and dad.
However, Reilly has never received an invitation to a birthday party, not even once. This fact has shattered his dad Shane’s heart over and over again. How could Shane’s so-called “friends” not even bother to invite Reilly when their kids had a party and all the other kids were invited?
Shane felt like he had been silent for too long, so he sent a message to his friends with kids to let them know how it feels to be on the other side.
“Right this has been brewing for some time so here it goes and you can like it or f***ing well lump it. My son Reilly has autism not f***ing leprosy; he is 6 years old and my so called friends who have kids also have kids parties. Not ONE invite not f***ing one. Think about that whilst you go and f*** yourselves; have you any idea how hurtful that is?”

Shane’s wife then shared his text on Twitter, where the post has received a ton of attention. Shane’s message was shared by thousands of sympathetic people who wanted to help him get the word out. Among the comments, people wrote things like: “How lucky to have a Dad like that?” and “Amazing how a diagnosis will sort the people you know into 1. Absolute arseholes 2. Friends for life. Top tip… arseholes don’t matter.”
