Getting older can sometimes discourage people from pursuing the goals and dreams they had in their youth.
Which is why it’s all the more impressive when those more mature citizens amongst us throw caution to the wind and give themselves a shot. Dan Lucas is certainly sitting in that category of human.
At 64-years-old, he might have been put off the idea of stepping onto a stage and singing in front of not only a live audience and judges, but television viewers as well. He wasn’t though, and his audition on The Voice Senior Germany is something truly special …
Given Dan’s appearance – his long hair, simple shirt and jeans – one might think him well below his actual age. Yet 64 he is, and he knew it was high time he pursued a dream he’s had for a long while.
His chosen song was Journey’s classic “Don’t Stop Believin'”, which is no easy choice when it’s considered how popular it is.
And yet his performance was fantastically on point. His blending of low and high notes was polished and professional, whilst his management of breathing (an underrated skill amongst vocal performers) was also worthy of recognition.
In fact, we’d go as far as to say Dan’s performance can serve as inspiration for anyone over the age of 40 wondering if it’s still possible to achieve their goals.
Just because time has matured you, you should never give up on your dreams.
