7 year old daughter get surprise of her life when military dad suddenly shows up in classroom

We’re all blessed to have so many selfless and hard working military service men and women dedicating their lives to protecting our freedom.

We try our best to pay them the respect they deserve, but often the people that love them the most get forgotten – their families, partners and children waiting at home for them.

7 year old Natalie Plamondon was one of them. She hadn’t seen her father for a year after he was deployed to Kuwait.

Her mom wanted to do something special for her. But Natalie had no idea that the biggest suprise was waiting just a few feet away.

Natalie’s mom Valerie was the special guest speaker at Natalie’s Tuesday morning assembly at Okte Elementary School in Clifton Park, New York.

Natalie joined her mom to read her favorite children’s book ‘Hero Dad’ to the class.

“My dad is an American soldier. My dad is my superhero,” Natalie read.

But when the story was over, her dad Lt. Col. Jean-Paul Plamondon walked into the room.

When Natalie realized her dad was just a few steps away, she ran straight to him and gave him a hug.

“I thought it was gonna’ be January 31st,” Natalie tells Fox News Insider about her dad’s suprise return. “I thought he was somebody else, but then when I realized it was daddy, I just wanted to run and hug him.”

The family says that they have made the most of the precious days since Lt. Co. Plamondon has been home. The first thing they did was go out for ice cream!
