When Jorge Gomez and his wife found out they were expecting a baby they were overjoyed.
The couple already had a son so now felt like their family was complete.
As Mrs Gomez made her regular visits to the doctor she received the news that they were expecting twins.
Everything went as planned with the pregnancy and twin girls Catalina and Virginia were born in Tucuman Province, Argentina.
When doctors saw the babies they couldn’t hide their shock. Mrs Gomez had given birth to two little babies so rare they became an overnight sensation.

Twins Virginia and Catalina were born 2018 in Tucumán Province, northern Argentina.
The twins were prematurely born at 36 weeks but both weighed a healthy weight and mother was doing just fine.
Catalina was born first weighing 5.95 pounds (approx. 2.6 kg), while Virginia was born two minutes later weighing 5.5 pounds (approx. 2.4 kg).

But the couple and staff who delivered the babies were shocked when they saw both girls had beautiful snowy white hair!

In the U.S. one in 17,000 babies are born with albinism but these two beauties were the first set of albino twins to be born in the country.
Albinism is a rare pigment disorder where there is little or no production of melanin. This means those with albinism have skin and eyes very sensitive to the UV rays from the sun.

Although the couple were shocked and would have to get used to lots of media attention, they felt so blessed with their new additions.
“When they gave us the news that we would have two babies, it gave us a lot of happiness and when they were born and we saw that they were albinos, that happiness did not change at all,” dad Jorge told LV12.

“For us it is a blessing,” he added.
These babies will grow up so different but the couple are determined to show the world that all babies deserve unconditional love and love without judgement.
