Mary Johnson had gone through a very difficult period in her life. She had said goodbye to many people over the last year, including her mother.
She would have fell into an even greater depression if it wasn’t for her granddaughter, who was there by her side to offer support.
When you’re going through so much heartache and grief in your life, looking after yourself is the last thing on your mind. Mary was craving a change and her granddaughter knew just the thing.
One day she had an idea she hoped would help grandmother.
After all the sad events Mary had gone through she didn’t feel she had the time or energy to take care of herself. Her granddaughter wanted to change this so she would feel special again.
“She thinks she isn’t pretty, but she is. I just want her to see that,” her granddaughter said.
Special makeover
Mary’s granddaughter decided to contact “The Makeover Guy” Christopher Hopkins
While discussing her hair with Christopher she seemed nervous as to what he was going to do with her long tresses.
Mary decided to do the right thing and gave Christopher free reign to do what he does best.
Mary’s granddaughter didn’t know quite what to expect from Mary’s makeover, all she knew was that she, and Mary, wanted a change.
“It’s been all these changes and I want a good change,” Mary said.
The result
Mary’s granddaughter is blown away by the transformation, she can hardly believe her eyes!
Even Mary was pleased with her new look. “He’s the magic man,” said Mary in the video.
Mary was so happy she wrote The Makeover Guy a thank you email, saying: “This morning when I looked in the mirror I liked what I saw. I had not felt this way in a long time. And my husband LOVES it! Last night he called me beautiful. You can bet I will keep up the hair and makeup!”

Mary is a great example of how much better we feel when we take care of ourselves. It’s not always possible but I’m glad Mary’s sweet granddaughter made it possible for her.
