Seeing a child come into the world is always a miraculous phenomenon. To witness little lives take their first breath and see the expressions of bliss appear in their parents’ faces is really something I don’t think anyone can ever tire of, not even for doctors and nurses who see it daily.
When Devina was born, no one could expect just how special her particular birth would be.
Devina, who’s name means loved, divine and heavenly, is indeed truly a unique child.
On May 1, mother-of-three Jessica Smith from Mississippi, USA delivered her long-awaited daughter Devina. But Jessica was shocked when she saw Devina for the first time.
When she entered into the world, she looked like a little doll, with more hair than most babies. But it’s when her generous portion of hair began to dry that doctors began to scratch their heads.
Hair white like snow
“I didn’t know until she was born. The doctor told me she had a lot of hair during delivery but it was a shock when I saw her for the first time, she had so much hair, it was crazy,” Jessica told The Mirror.
Devina’s pictures are now spreading like wildfire online, with little Devina being compared to character Daenerys from popular TV series “Game of Thrones” due of her white hair.
Devina was born with albinism, an unusual genetic disease that affects pigment melanins in the body.
The condition mainly affects one’s overall physical appearance as well as their eyesight, which means that people with albinism often have impaired vision.
Aside from this, the 3515 grams, 48 cm long little princess was perfectly healthy.
After her pictures spread, many have called Devina one of the most beautiful babies they have ever seen. I’m prepared to agree, though all babies are of course adorable.
