Heart transplant survivor gives birth to beautiful baby girl – 8 hours later the unthinkable happens

Megan, from Missouri, contracted a virus when she was 15 years old that led to myocarditis, a potentially fatal heart disease marked by inflammation of the heart.

At 23 years old she needed a heart transplant, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Eventually a donor was found and the operation was a success.

A year after her operation she married Christian musician artist Nathan Johnson.

In late 2016 Meghan became pregnant and the couple prayed for her safe arrival.

Meghan underwent more hospital visits than most moms to make sure her heart was healthy and the baby was doing well. Thankfully the pregnancy went as well as could be expected.

On June 27 little Eilee Kate came into the world.

Josh gushed about the safe arrival of his daughter and how well his wife’s heart had stood up to the delivery.

Megan held her beloved daughter for the first time, hugged her, fed her and burped her.

Little did they know this was going to be the last time mother and daughter would be together.

Tragically everything changed in the blink of an eye.

But shortly after Megan suffered complications and around 6 hours after she gave birth new mom Megan died.

In a moment life changed in the most cruel way. Nathan not only lost the love of his life, but the mother of his child.

‘She loved people, loved her husband so much’

“Nathan is devastated,” Nathan’s friend Josh Wilson wrote on a GoFundMe page. that he set up for the family.

“There are no words for this, so I won’t really say much more. Here is what I know. Nathan is a wonderful man and an amazing father. He loves his daughter dearly. ” he said, according to CNN.

“She loved people, loved her husband so much. She also had a great faith in Jesus,” Wilson told CNN of Megan Moss Johnson. “The sadness and the grief is very real, but we still feel that there is hope.”

It’s clear from his posts that Nathan is treasuring every moment with his daughter, who he affectionately calls his ‘mini Meg.”

The GoFundMe appeal has raised over $400,000 for Nathan to help him raise his daughter, cover childcare costs and a college fund for Eilee Kate.

Now Meghan will be taking care of her little girl from the sky. The stars do not leave, they shine forever.

No child should have to grow up without a mother but it’s clear that she is loved and cherished tenfold by her father.

I hope everyone around them will shower them with the strength and love needed to get through it all.

This is also a reminder to take advantage of every moment in life. Tell the precious people around you that you love them, spend time with them, call them. You never know what’s around the corner.
