Hollywood couple Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell reunite on screen after more than three decades

Despite the pressure of Hollywood and the constant “split” rumors in the press, golden couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are a shining example of enduring love.

Their devotion extends to never taking work at the same time so they don’t have to spend time apart.

They haven’t appeared together in a movie since co-starring in Overboard in 1987. But now fans of the cute couple will be able to see them reunited on the big screen.

 

 

Thanks to the latest release from Netflix, the two are back together in the fun roles of Santa Claus and Mrs Claus.

The Christmas Chronicles tells the tale of a brother and sister, who accidentally crash Santa’s sleigh and have to pull an all-nighter to save Christmas with straight-talking St Nick, played by Kurt Russell.

Their wonderful chemistry isn’t seen until the end when Santa Claus returns to the North Pole to Mrs Claus, played by Goldie Hawn.

According to Netflix the movie was streamed 20 million times in its first week and has been dubbed the “Holiday Movie of the Year” by critics.

The devoted couple chose not to get married and have one child together and three children from previous marriages. They also own at least five homes.

Strong commitment

In an interview with  The Daily Mail Kurt talked about the upcoming blockbuster but also gave fans an insight into the strong commitment they have for each other.

“I very rarely worked when I knew Goldie was going to be working. And vice-versa. Which meant we could be together,” he said. “I never thought that what the business could provide would ever take precedence over us.”

At the premiere of the movie they arrived with their children and grandchildren showing the world how important family is to them.

“Christmas is huge in our family, it’s just something that is really a big deal to us,” Russell told PEOPLE. “Santa is the centerpiece of Christmas, it is the one time of the year that we are all able to get together for a good, long period of time, and have all of the things that all families have.”
