Kathie Lee Gifford has plenty of reasons to be thankful this Christmas, but she’s just been given something extra special to celebrate.
According to social media page, she’s to become a grandma for the second time thanks to her daughter, Cassidy.
Cassidy broke the news to the public by sharing a post to her Instagram page with a photo that showed three stockings hanging by the fireplace. One was hers, one was for her husband, and the third was a tiny stocking to indicate the arrival of the latest Gifford clan member.
“A whole lot extra to be praising Jesus for this Christmas,” Cassidy wrote. “Our little peanut arriving June 2023 🙏 Jeremiah 1:5”.
Kathie, meanwhile, was also over the moon with the announcement. She shared the same photo to her own Instagram page, explaining how the Gifford family was blessed to be welcoming a new member.
The actress also penned an emotional message on Twitter, sharing her thoughts on her children starting their own families now.

Of course, it wasn’t all that long ago that Kathie welcomed her first grandchild, Frank Michael Gifford.
On June 1, this year, Kathie took to Instagram to announce Frank’s birth, sharing a photo of the happy family together in the hospital. She later admitted that she had been left touched by the decision to name the baby Frank, after her late husband of 30 years.
It was in 2015 that Kathie’s long-time partner, Frank Gifford, passed away, and it would appear that she’s still not fully recovered from the loss.
Welcoming her grandchildren could just be the ideal way for Kathie to continue her journey through the healing process. Losing the love of her life was always going to leave a huge hole, but there’s nothing quite like the pitter-patter of tiny feet to soften hearts in need of healing.
Last year, Kathie spoke openly on the prospect of dating, hinting that she’d met a new partner she was happy with.
“I have a very sweet man in my life,” the former Today co-host, 69, said. “He’s good for me, and I’m good for him.”
She added: “I’m in a really special relationship with somebody that is nice and fun and healthy, and so that’s good. “It’s just happy, and I don’t want to mess it up, and I probably already have by just even mentioning it.
“To be in a place where you feel like every aspect of your life is good, that nothing’s missing, and that’s a beautiful place to be. I’m just so grateful.”
I don’t know about you, but I think welcoming a grandchild into the world is one of the most heartwarming things anyone can ever do.
Not only that, but I’m delighted to see Kathie back in high spirits after a tough few years dealing with the loss of her husband.
