When British couple Sue and Noel Radford met and married over 20 years ago, they both agreed they were only going to have three children.
Today they are known as Britain’s largest family with 20 children and counting.
According to an article in The Sun newspaper, the family, who get through 126 pints of milk, 21 loaves of bread, 14 boxes of cereal and 28 toilet rolls a week, do not claim any government support.
Dad Noel, 43, works hard in their successful family bakery, in Lancashire, and their eldest children help out.
For over a decade baby-loving mom Sue has produced a child nearly every year and when her second eldest daughter headed off to college, she had the comfort of baby number 17 to welcome.
Three pieces of news to celebrate
But just a few days later Sue suffered a miscarriage.
Thankfully the sadness turned to celebration ten months later when the family had not one but three pieces of good news to celebrate.
Sue and Noel discovered they were pregnant again and their eldest daughter Sophie announced that she too was expecting her second child.
Two children within a month
To the relief of her family, their other daughter Chloe announced that she was transferring to a local college where she could be closer to them all.
Sophie had her first child within a month of her mom having her 16th child and the two tots have lots of fun playing together.
Eldest daughter Sophie said growing up in a big family was “amazing” but she had no plans to follow suit.
“The main reason I don’t want a big family for myself is I want to get out and work full-time. I’m not one for staying at home all day,” Sophie told The Sun.
The family shot to fame after becoming the stars of documentary “16 Kids and Counting” which aired in the U.K.
The couple have been married for 23 years and only ever planned to have three children but were happy to let nature take its course along the way.
‘We’re addicted to having all these kids’
“We set out to maybe have three children but enjoyed having the kids around so just carried on,” Noel told The Sun.
“We’re addicted to having all these kids. We just love it.”
According to the article, published in January 2019, the couple had recently welcomed their 20th child called Bonnie Raye after a 12-minute labor and now says that she will be their last.
