One-year-old left with 2nd-degree burns after daycare sends her to play without shoes on

Tiffanie, from Brenham, Texas, couldn’t believe it when she discovered second-degree burns on her child’s feet after collecting her from the local daycare.

“She was screaming when I went to go pick her up,” Tiffanie told KBTX News.

Tiffanie saw that her 16-month-old’s feet were covered in blisters and red patches and had some questions for staff at the center.

“She said she was sent out on the playground with no shoes on, because earlier that day she had diarrhea and it went down to her shoes,” said Tiffanie.

Staff at the daycare had not considered how hot the ground or playground equipment was and sent a toddler outside with bare feet.

“It was almost a hundred degrees yesterday,” said Tiffanie. “It’s just common sense you don’t send kids out barefoot on the playground. My child was neglected, and I would like for people to know that.

“I was heartbroken when I saw her foot because half of her foot was blistered,” she added, according to Shareably.

The frantic mom rushed her daughter to the emergency room and also reported the incident to police.

Now she no longer trusts daycares and instead was able to set up a nursery at her place of work so she can keep an eye on her baby while she works.

As parents we always know what’s best for our child. Please share if you think more workplaces should have nurseries to help stop incidents like this from happening.
