On the 30th Augusta baby was found dead in his home in Iowa.The boy’s body had started to rot and he had worms in his diaper; it was obvious that the boy had been dead for several days.
The reason why would shake both the police and the media to their core.
After receiving a tip, police were able to enter 20-year-old Cheyanne Harris and 28-year old Zachary Koehn’s home in Iowa. They found the couple’s four month old baby Sterling dead in his baby swing. His body had started to rot.
Autopsy revealed the truth
The parents were immediately taken in for questioning, but both denied the crime and said that their son was fine the last time they checked on him. According to Zachary’s statement, his girlfriend fed their son at nine that morning and everything was normal. But when they checked again at lunch time, he was dead. However an autopsy showed that the boy was neglected and hadn’t had his diaper changed for a week. It also concluded that the baby had sat in the same place for around 7 days, according to Daily Mail.
Also have a 2-year-old daughter
Since all the evidence points towards the parents having killed their child through neglect they are now charged with murder. The couple also have a two-year-old daughter.
They’re facing life in prison if convicted.
