Parents have a natural instinct to do all they can to protect their children but those parents in the public eye have more to worry about when it comes to keeping their little ones safe.
Nobody knows that better than the British royal family who are constantly followed by photographers and as adults have to accept that they will always be in the public eye, photographed and scrutinized.
But for their kids they work hard to control the images and information that is released of their little ones.
Prince Harry and Meghan, who welcomed their first child son Archie in May 2019, have been careful to limit the photos that are published of him.
Following Royal Family tradition the couple released an image of the sweet boy on Instagram two days after his arrival.
Alongside pictures of a beaming Prince Harry holding his son and arm in arm with Meghan, the post read: “Today The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to share their first public moment as a family.
“They are so incredibly grateful for the warm wishes and support they’ve received from everyone around the world, since welcoming their son two days ago.”
They then followed the post up with a picture of the Queen meeting her new grandson alongside Harry and Meghan’s mom Doria Ragland revealing his full name Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
It was six months before the couple would delight fans again by releasing a series of images from their time in South Africa to meet with Archbishop Desmond Tutu in September.
“Thank you Archbishop Tutu for your incredibly warm hospitality, Archie loved meeting you!” their Instagram post read.
Many royal fans have speculated as to which side of the family Archie is most like but as all parents know babies change every day.
“We’re still trying to figure that out,” Meghan said, according to People.
“Everyone says babies change so much over two weeks,” Harry said. “We’re basically monitoring how the changing process happens over this next month, really. His looks are changing every single day, so who knows?”
Since that time the couple have been busy traveling and in 2020 they announced the shocking news that they would be stepping down from their roles as senior royals and moving to Canada.
For their last trip to the UK as senior royals the couple arrived without Archie much to the disappointment of all the fans who turned out to see them.
But just a few months later royal fans were treated to a video of Meghan reading to her giggling gorgeous baby boy while Harry filmed from their new home in California during lockdown.
The video was posted on the UK’s Save the Children social media pages in support of the charity’s #SavewithStories campaign, which aims to raise funds for children and families struggling due to the coronavirus crisis.
Those commenting on the post couldn’t get over how much Archie, who is seventh in line to the British throne, looks like his father.
One posted: “OMG he is Prince Harry’s double!” Another wrote: “Archie is Harry’s mini me”.
Another added: “Oh my god! He is Harry’s twin wow! What a adorable boy!! King Archie rules!”
We hope we get to see more of this adorable boy growing up, he is such a delight.
Please share with all the royal fans you know.
