Finally it’s time to take out the grill and start cooking.
Only this time you can skip the part where you buy expensive cleaning supplies and scrub for what seems like an eternity.
Here’s a simple trick my grandmother taught me that will help you clean your grill without using potentially dangerous chemicals.
It’s barbecue season, and time to clean the grill.
This year you don’t need to worry about spending money on expensive cleaning supplies, and then scrubbing for hours, though – there are easier ways to get the job done.
All you need to do is cut an onion in half.

Stick a fork in one of the pieces.
Then heat up the grill real high to burn away potential gunk that’s stuck to the grill.

Let the grill cool down for a while, then rub the onion over it while it’s still hot.
Onions are known for their antibacterial properties, and the acid from the onion will clean your grill without the need for any chemicals.

If you want to give your grill a little extra care and cleaning, you can spray it with white vinegar – the extra strong acid will help with the process.
