Everyone who’s been to a wedding knows how easy it is to tear up a little. After all, there’s isn’t much as beautiful as two people in love promising to be there for each other for eternity.
But when Jason Thurman Jr. was was at the altar waiting for his bride, Allison, he didn’t just tear up a little. Because when he and the wedding guests realized what Allison had done, there was rivers of tears.
Waiting at the altar for your bride must be one of the most anxious feelings a groom can experience. Perhaps it’s the influence of romantic comedies and a mix of expectation and joy that gives grooms the gnawing feeling that their bride might not show up.
I don’t know how Jason Thurman Jr. was feeling, but seeing him sway from one foot to the other with his eyes focused on the floor, at least suggested that he was nervous when he stood there waiting at the altar.
Jason made some fleeting glances down the aisle, hoping that his soon-to-be wife would soon walk through the door wearing her wedding dress. And then suddenly, the groom heard a sound that made him completely break down.
The silence was broken by the sound of a piano. It was followed by an angelic voice that started singing Elvis Presley’s classic ballad “Can’t Help Falling In Love.”
The guests turned their heads, and to their surprise, they discovered who was holding the microphone.
The bride, Allison Dyer Thurman, was singing the beautiful song as she was escorted to the altar.
It was a surprise that no one had been prepared for. And as the camera showed, Jason had difficulty keeping his feelings in check when he heard Allison’s voice.
He and the guests were in tears and were clearly moved.
Luckily, for the rest of the world, the event was filmed. I personally got goosebumps all over my body. It was so touching and it’s what true love looks like. Watch the clip below and have some tissues ready!
I could watch this clip 100 times — it’s just so wonderful.
