Josh Groban joins Jennifer Nettles for duet so sultry it leaves the crowd with hearts pounding

It seems that everything that American singer songwriter Josh Groban touches turns to gold. Starting his music career at the tender age of 18, his first four solo albums went multi-platinum.

He’s been nominated for three Grammy Awards and is now a global superstore with an instantly recognizable voice.

So when this talent joined voices with another singing sensation, country music star Jennifer Nettles, for a duet, it left those watching stunned into silence.

Jennifer, lead singer of Sugarland, wowed the audience when she performed the song “99 Years” at New York’s Madison Square Gardens with Groban last year.

The lyrics refer to a couple looking ahead at the years they will spend together and how they will feel after 99 years together. It’s a real tear-jerker.

Josh Groban leads the song with a smooth intro when Jennifer’s strong vocals kick in and take them to a rousing chorus.

Their stunning performance left the crowd silent and only the occasional whistle and cheer from the audience can be heard.

The song can be found on Josh’s album “Bridges” released in 2018.

Josh said the song was inspired by his parent’s reaching their 50th wedding anniversary as he wondered the kind of future they were thinking about.

After realizing that the song worked best as a duet he immediately thought of Jennifer Nettles because of the song’s “accidental” country sound.

The song reminds us that there are some things worth holding onto.

Take a look at their stunning performance in the video below.
